CVE-2025-62706Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Service interruption via unbounded JWE DEFLATE decompression

Published Oct 22, 2025 · Updated Oct 22, 2025

Resource exhaustion in Authlib before 1.6.5 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt services via decryptable compressed JWEs. DeflateZipAlgorithm.decompress passes decrypted zip=DEF payloads to zlib.decompress without an output limit, fully expanding attacker-controlled plaintext in memory. The attacker must supply a JWE the target can decrypt; expansion consumes CPU and memory and can starve or terminate the hosting process.
