CVE-2025-62686Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via DYLD library injection

Published Dec 3, 2025 · Updated Dec 3, 2025

Local privilege escalation in Plugin Alliance Installation Manager 1.4.0 allows local users to execute code through its macOS helper. The root-owned InstallationHelper lacks hardened runtime and a __RESTRICT segment, so DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES makes it load an untrusted library when an XPC client invokes getVersionWithReply:. The published proof of concept runs as the launching user when SIP is enabled; root-level execution requires SIP to be disabled or misconfigured.
