Unauthenticated disclosure via unchecked activity counts
Published Oct 21, 2025 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Incorrect permissions in MediaWiki Thanks and GrowthExperiments 1.43 before 1.44 allow remote attackers to obtain restricted activity counts. ThanksQueryHelper and GrowthExperiments user-information card queries count deleted or restricted edits, new articles, and thanks without viewer-specific read checks. Unauthenticated network access is sufficient; published patch details establish aggregate-count disclosure but do not document access to protected contribution contents.
