Continued SSL-VPN access via unexpired sessions

Insufficient session expiration in Fortinet FortiOS 6.4, 7.0, 7.2, and 7.4.0 allows attackers to retain SSL-VPN access after a password change. The SSL-VPN session lifecycle does not invalidate an already active session when the associated user password changes, so that session continues to authorize access to network resources. Exploitation requires a session established before the password change and particular conditions outside the attacker’s control; Fortinet has not disclosed those conditions.
