Local code execution via relative path traversal
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 16, 2026
Relative path traversal in affected Microsoft Access releases allows local users to execute code when a user opens a crafted file. Microsoft has not published the affected parser or function, or the exact path-resolution operation that accepts the crafted relative path. Exploitation requires user interaction and runs attacker-controlled code in the opening user's context, affecting data and application availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
