Stored script execution via unencoded project metadata
Published Oct 20, 2025 · Updated Oct 20, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Taguette before 1.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript when a project is loaded. The project view embeds tag and document names and descriptions as JSON inside a JavaScript block without HTML-encoding special characters, so a crafted value can terminate the block and inject a new script. Project membership is required to store the payload; any user who later loads the affected project runs it in the Taguette web origin, exposing only that user's browser-accessible data and actions.
