CVE-2025-62506Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via session-policy allow-check bypass

Published Oct 16, 2025 · Updated Oct 23, 2025

Incorrect authorization in MinIO before RELEASE.2025-10-15T17-29-55Z allows remote authenticated users to escape restricted session policies. The IAM checks in cmd/iam.go use DenyOnly for own-account service-account creation, accepting actions not explicitly denied instead of requiring the session policy to allow them. Valid credentials for a restricted service or STS account suffice to mint an unrestricted child service account that can read, modify, delete, or create objects outside its authorized scope.
