Local privilege escalation via heap buffer overflow
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 16, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft's Windows Cloud Files Mini Filter Driver allows local users to elevate privileges. Microsoft has not published the affected routine, input path, or the incorrect allocation and copy operation that causes the heap overwrite. Exploitation requires existing low-privileged local access; the bounded consequence is privilege elevation on an affected Windows host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
