Authenticated code execution via unbounded client-list copy
Published Feb 3, 2026 · Updated Feb 3, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in TP-Link Archer AX53 v1.0 through 1.3.1 Build 20241120 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. SmartNetSetClientList for tmpServer opcode 0x429 copies growing client_list JSON into a 0x800-byte stack buffer with unbounded strcpy. Access requires an authenticated HomeShield path to tmpServer; oversized client entries corrupt the stack, causing a crash or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
