Restricted course-detail disclosure via ignored access result
Published Oct 23, 2025 · Updated Oct 23, 2025
Improper access control in Moodle LMS 5.0.0 through 5.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to view restricted course details. The course_output_fragment_course_overview function called can_access_course() but ignored its return value, so rendering continued when the check denied access. Any low-privileged account able to invoke the course overview fragment can retrieve limited details for a course it cannot otherwise access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
