CVE-2025-62382Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file read via unsanitized thumbnail path

Published Oct 15, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025

Arbitrary file read in Frigate before 0.16.2 allows remote authenticated users to read host files through the export API. The export route accepts image_path verbatim, and RecordingExporter.save_thumbnail passes it to shutil.copy into a web-served clips path without canonicalization or an allowlist. Exploitation requires authenticated API access and winning the brief interval before the background exporter deletes the copied thumbnail.
