CVE-2025-62371Network attack vector

Data interception and modification via trust-all TLS

Published Oct 15, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025

Improper certificate validation in OpenSearch Data Prepper before 2.12.2 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read and alter data in transit. When the cert parameter is absent, the OpenSearch sink and source client builders select a trust-all TLS strategy instead of platform trust validation. Exploitation requires a network position between Data Prepper and its configured OpenSearch cluster; availability impact is not reported.
