Session hijacking via unescaped log parameter
Published Oct 13, 2025 · Updated Oct 13, 2025
Reflected XSS in WeGIA before 3.5.1 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a victim's browser through the log parameter. The configuration page passes the base64-decoded log value to its message renderer without HTML neutralization, placing attacker-controlled script in the response. Opening the crafted URL is required; a logged-in victim whose PHPSESSID cookie lacks HttpOnly and Secure flags can have the cookie stolen and reused to hijack the session.
