Arbitrary local file read via symlink bypass
Published Oct 17, 2025 · Updated Oct 17, 2025
Path traversal in Qodo Gen all versions allows remote attackers to read arbitrary local files through its File System MCP server. The allowed-path validation in FileSystem.java accepts a symbolic link inside the project and lets the model follow it to a file outside the project. A direct request or indirect prompt injection can disclose files outside the open project.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
