External URL redirection via unescaped redirect parameter
Published Oct 27, 2025 · Updated Oct 27, 2025
Open redirect in Liferay Portal 7.4.0 through 7.4.3.97 and affected Liferay DXP releases allows remote attackers to redirect users. EditLayoutMVCActionCommand reads the page-administration redirect parameter and uses it without Portal.escapeRedirect validation before issuing the response redirect. A targeted user must invoke the crafted page-administration request; the browser can then be sent to an attacker-chosen site, with no direct portal data access reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
