CVE-2025-62249Network attack vector

Unauthenticated script execution via unescaped gadget title

Published Oct 21, 2025 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

Reflected XSS in affected Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP releases allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through google_gadget. GoogleGadgetServlet reads the title request value and writes it unescaped into the ModulePrefs title XML attribute returned by google_gadget. No authentication is required; a crafted request executes script in the returned page context and can expose or alter browser-accessible data.
