Authentication bypass in Apache NimBLE 1.8.0 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to replace a trusted BLE bond. The ble_sm_sec_req_rx handler can initiate pairing from an SMP Security Request before authenticating an already bonded peer through encryption with its stored key. An attacker within BLE radio range spoofs the bonded device, displaces its stored bond, and establishes an impostor bond without credentials or user interaction.
