CVE-2025-62225

SYSTEM code execution via unquoted service path

Published Nov 5, 2025 · Updated Nov 5, 2025

Unquoted service path handling in Sony Optical Disc Archive Software 1.0.0 through 5.5.2 allows local users to execute code as SYSTEM. The registered Windows service uses an executable path without quotation marks, allowing Windows path parsing to select an attacker-placed executable from the system-drive root. Exploitation requires write permission on that root and yields SYSTEM-level code execution when the service starts.
