Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Windows Subsystem for Linux GUI before 2.6.2 allows remote attackers to execute code. The vulnerable locus is the Remote Desktop client, where network data corrupts a heap buffer and code runs in the Windows host process msrdc.exe. Exploitation requires no authentication but requires user interaction in the Remote Desktop client; Microsoft reports no known exploitation in the wild.
