CVE-2025-62193Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via PyFerret SPAWN expressions

Published Jan 15, 2026 · Updated Jan 15, 2026

OS command injection in NOAA PMEL Live Access Server 8 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands via PyFerret expressions. RequestInputFilter parses request XML without rejecting its ferret expression property, allowing a SPAWN directive to reach the backend PyFerret interpreter. No authentication or user interaction is required, and commands run with the operating-system privileges assigned to the LAS Tomcat service.
