CVE-2025-62161

Container escape via masked-path symlink race

Published Nov 5, 2025 · Updated Nov 5, 2025

Symlink race in Youki youki before 0.5.7 allows local users controlling a container rootfs to bind-mount arbitrary host files. The masked-path handler validates /dev/null and its in-container path before mounting, leaving a time-of-check/time-of-use window in which the source can be replaced with a symlink. Exploitation requires control of the container root filesystem and success in the race, after which host files can be exposed inside the container.
