Authenticated script execution via unsafe custom links
Published Dec 31, 2025 · Updated Dec 31, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Add Featured Image Custom Link 2.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute browser scripts. Public records identify the custom-link input and insufficient sanitization and output escaping, but do not disclose the exact function or DOM sink. Author-level privileges and a victim visit are required; the scripts execute in the visitor's browser and can alter displayed content or access data available to that session.
