CVE-2025-61970

Privilege escalation via writable installation path

Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026

Improper permissions in AMD Vitis Embedded before 2026.1 allow local users to execute arbitrary code through binary hijacking. The Windows SFD installation path permits low-privileged writes, allowing unintended files to be placed or altered for later loading; AMD does not identify the specific ACL or binary. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and an additional user action before attacker-controlled code runs with higher privileges.
