Service interruption via oversized Data Guard URL
Published Oct 15, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Denial of service in F5 BIG-IP 17.1.0 through 17.1.2 and 17.5.0 allows remote attackers to repeatedly terminate the bd process. Advanced WAF or ASM accepts a Data Guard Protection Enforcement URL longer than 1024 characters in a security policy and enters a bd restart loop. Exploitation requires that policy setting, created manually or by Policy Builder; the resulting loop repeatedly interrupts the WAF or ASM service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=17.1.0 <17.1.3
- Affected versionversion=17.5.0 <17.5.1
