CVE-2025-61929Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Command execution via decoded MCP configuration

Published Oct 10, 2025 · Updated Oct 10, 2025

Code injection in CherryHQ Cherry Studio 1.7.0-alpha.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute commands through an MCP installation URL. The handleMcpProtocolUrl function decodes base64 server configuration from cherrystudio://mcp URLs and passes its command field to a process launcher without neutralization. Exploitation requires a user to click crafted protocol content, after which the command runs with the desktop application's privileges.
