Memory-exhaustion denial of service via unbounded body read
Published Oct 10, 2025 · Updated Oct 10, 2025
Uncontrolled resource consumption in Rack before 2.2.20, 3.0 through 3.1.17, and 3.2 through 3.2.2 allows remote attackers to cause a crash. Rack::Request#POST reads an entire application/x-www-form-urlencoded request body with rack.input.read(nil) before enforcing parser size limits. A remotely reachable Rack application without an upstream request-body cap can allocate memory in proportion to attacker-controlled body size until the process slows or the operating system terminates it.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=< 2.2.20
