Local administrative access via kiosk race condition
Published Sep 30, 2025 · Updated Sep 30, 2025
Race condition in Quadient DS-700 iQ devices through 2025-09-30 allows physically proximate attackers to obtain local administrative access. Rapidly selecting Question Mark, Help, About, and Help can race the IMOS thick client's interface handling, crash kiosk mode, and expose its administrator-level Windows session. The result was observed only sporadically on one client device, so reproducibility and whether the tested configuration caused the behavior remain disputed.
