CVE-2025-61787Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Command injection via implicit batch-file shell

Published Oct 8, 2025 · Updated Oct 8, 2025

Command injection in Deno before 2.2.15 and 2.3.0 through 2.5.2 on Windows allows remote attackers to execute commands via batch-file arguments. The compute_run_cmd_and_check_permissions path passes .bat or .cmd arguments to CreateProcess without rejecting shell metacharacters, so Windows implicitly invokes cmd.exe. Reachability requires a Windows application with run permission to pass attacker-controlled arguments to a batch file; injected commands inherit the Deno process privileges.
