CVE-2025-61678Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unrestricted firmware upload

Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Oct 14, 2025

Arbitrary file upload in Endpoint Manager on FreePBX 16 before 16.0.92 and FreePBX 17 before 17.0.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The firmware upload handler accepts dangerous file contents and uses the fwbrand parameter to alter the destination path, permitting placement of a PHP webshell in a web-served directory. A known username and a previously uploaded firmware file are required; successful placement grants code execution with the web server's privileges.
