Stored XSS via unsanitized markup stylesheet input
Published Jan 10, 2026 · Updated Jan 10, 2026
Stored XSS in October CMS before 3.7.13 and from 4.0.0 through 4.0.11 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in backend pages. The Markup Styles field persists attacker-controlled stylesheet text without neutralizing a closing style tag, so injected HTML and JavaScript escape the intended style context. Exploitation requires the Global Editor Settings permission and a backend user to load a page carrying the stored payload, exposing that user's session and authorized actions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
