Unauthenticated file disclosure via backslash path traversal
Published Oct 2, 2025 · Updated Oct 2, 2025
Path traversal in Traccar Server 5.8 through 6.8.1 on Windows allows remote attackers to read arbitrary local files without authentication. DefaultOverrideServlet passes the request path directly to Jetty Resource.addPath, whose canonicalization accepts Windows backslash traversal sequences. The web.override setting is required; it is enabled by default in 6.1 through 6.8.1 but must be configured in 5.8 through 6.0.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
