CVE-2025-61589Network attack vector

Sensitive data exfiltration via Mermaid image fetch

Published Oct 3, 2025 · Updated Oct 3, 2025

Information disclosure in Cursor 1.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to exfiltrate sensitive data via Mermaid image rendering. The chat renderer accepts model-generated Mermaid image references and fetches their URLs without removing remote images. Exploitation requires prompt injection through malicious web content, an uploaded image, or source code, after which the request sends exposed data to an attacker-controlled server.
