Server-side request forgery via unrestricted image URL
Published Oct 20, 2025 · Updated Oct 20, 2025
SSRF in SLiMS 9 Bulian 9.6.1 allows remote authenticated users to make server-side HTTP requests through the imageURL parameter. admin/modules/bibliography/scrape_image.php checks only URL syntax before passing the untrusted value to Client::get, without restricting destinations. Administrative access is required; the demonstrated outcome is access to attacker-chosen destinations and hostname disclosure, not arbitrary code execution.
