Stored XSS via unsanitized SVG uploads
Published Oct 21, 2025 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Stored XSS in code16 Sharp before 9.7.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in another user's browser through an SVG upload. SharpFormUploadField accepts and saves SVG images without sanitizing script-bearing markup, allowing active content to persist until the image is viewed. Exploitation requires another user to view the uploaded SVG; the script then runs in that user's Sharp web origin and can read accessible session data or perform actions available to that user.
