CVE-2025-61413Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored script execution via incomplete Markdown sanitization

Published Oct 23, 2025 · Updated Oct 23, 2025

Stored XSS in Piranha CMS 12.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in visitors' browsers through Markdown blocks. The page editor's Markdown sanitizer leaves edge-case HTML and JavaScript payloads intact, then stores and renders them in previews and published pages. An attacker needs a Manager account to create or edit a page, while script execution occurs when authenticated users or external visitors render the poisoned content.
