Administrator-session compromise via unsanitized scan results
Published Oct 10, 2025 · Updated Oct 10, 2025
Stored XSS in ReNgine 2.2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in an administrator's browser via scan results. The Vulnerabilities module renders an XSS payload preserved from a scanned target without sanitizing or HTML-encoding the value before displaying it in the web UI. Exploitation requires an administrator to open the affected results view; successful execution can expose the session or perform actions with that administrator's privileges.
