Denial of analysis via telemetry serialization limits
Published Oct 20, 2025 · Updated Oct 20, 2025
Denial of analysis in CAPEv2 at commit 52e4b43 allows remote attackers to suppress behavioral reports through a submitted sample. The reporting/mongodb.py and reporting/jsondump.py paths pass oversized or deeply nested behavior trees to bounded MongoDB BSON storage and orjson serialization, where size, nesting, or recursion limits abort report creation. Sample-submission access and execution in the sandbox are required; the resulting report can omit captured behavior or be missing entirely while the sample activity still runs.
