Stored script execution via pre-validation SVG storage
Published Oct 8, 2025 · Updated Oct 8, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in VaahCMS 2.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to run script in a victim's browser via an SVG upload. MediaController.php stores an attacker-named SVG in a predictable public path before content or MIME validation, and leaves it there after rejecting the upload. Exploitation requires a registered user to upload the file and a victim to open or render its public URL, enabling script execution in the victim's browser.
