CVE-2025-61155Known exploitationPublic exploit

Arbitrary process termination via unchecked IOCTL

Published Oct 28, 2025 · Updated Oct 28, 2025

Access control failure in Hotta Studio GameDriverX64.sys 7.23.4.7 and earlier allows local users to terminate arbitrary processes. The IOCTL 0x222040 handler accepts a caller-supplied PID after checking only a hardcoded magic value, then invokes ZwTerminateProcess in kernel mode without validating the caller's authority over the target. Any local user able to open the driver device can stop critical system or security services without administrative privileges.
