Authenticated code execution via unchecked MAC-filter copy
Published Jun 16, 2025 · Updated Jun 16, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-619L 2.06B01 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through MAC-filter POST data. The boa form_macfilter handler copies attacker-controlled mac_hostname_%d or sched_name_%d values into a stack local without checking length, overwriting its return address. Authenticated access to the LAN-side web configuration is required; the published request crashes the router, while return-address control enables arbitrary code execution.
