CVE-2025-61147Public exploit

Local crash via unchecked temporal-layer argument

Published Feb 23, 2026 · Updated Feb 23, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in strukturag libde265 commit d9fea9d allows local users to crash dec265 via an oversized -T argument. dec265 parses the -T highest-temporal-layer option with atoi without validating conversion range or rejecting negative results, then compute_framedrop_table uses the invalid value while populating its table. Execution requires local command-line access or control of dec265 arguments; the demonstrated consequence is a process crash, not code execution.
