Routing daemon crash via unchecked opaque LSA handler
Published Oct 27, 2025 · Updated Oct 27, 2025
NULL pointer dereference in FRRouting 2.0 through 10.4.1 allows remote attackers to crash ospfd via a crafted OSPF LS Update packet. The show_opaque_info_detail function in ospfd/ospf_opaque.c uses the function table returned for an opaque LSA without reliably validating both the table and its show_opaque_info callback. The crash requires detailed OSPF packet debugging to be enabled and interrupts the ospfd routing daemon when reachable OSPF traffic supplies the crafted LSA.
