Database crash via nested NATURAL JOIN compilation
Published Jun 23, 2026 · Updated Jun 23, 2026
Denial of service in OpenLink Virtuoso Open Source 7.2.11 allows attackers to crash the database service via crafted SQL statements. The upstream reproducer drives nested NATURAL JOIN views through sqlo_natural_join_cond during UPDATE compilation, where the process crashes; the underlying invalid operation is undisclosed. The public reproducer uses a DBA session, and the upstream report does not establish whether lower-privileged SQL access reaches the crash.
