Account compromise via unrestricted reset passwords
Published Oct 24, 2025 · Updated Oct 24, 2025
Weak password enforcement in Microweber CMS 2.0 allows remote attackers to compromise accounts through guessable reset passwords. The tokenized POST /reset-password/ flow accepts and saves single-character passwords without enforcing minimum length or complexity. A valid reset link and user interaction are required to create the weak credential; successful guessing then exposes user or administrative accounts.
