CVE-2025-60892Public exploit

Unauthorized SSH access via restored deleted key

Published Nov 3, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Improper key handling in Raspberry Pi Imager 1.9.6 for Windows allows attackers with the matching private key to access an imaged device. When OS customization is saved, the imager rescans the Windows .ssh directory and writes id_rsa.pub into authorized_keys despite its UI deletion. Exploitation requires public-key-only customization, an imaged and booted device, SSH reachability, and possession of the matching private key.
