CVE-2025-60889Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Code execution via shared-pointer type confusion

Published Apr 28, 2026 · Updated Jul 5, 2026

Type confusion in STEllAR-GROUP HPX 1.11.0 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted serialized data. serialize_pointer_tracked reuses a tracked shared pointer for a different requested type without verifying type compatibility. Exploitation requires deserialization of attacker-controlled shared references of different types; network exposure enables remote code execution, while local use can disclose process memory or hijack control flow.
