Authenticated conversation disclosure via missing ownership check
Published Sep 11, 2025 · Updated Sep 11, 2025
Improper authorization in LibreChat 0.7.8 allows remote authenticated users to read other users' conversations through a sharing API. The /api/share/conversationID endpoint returns a conversation by identifier without verifying that the requester is authorized to view it. A valid account and a known server-generated UUIDv4 conversation ID are required; IDs exposed in logs, browser history, or screenshots permit read-only access.
