Sanitization bypass via noncanonical query keys
Published Oct 10, 2025 · Updated Oct 10, 2025
Input sanitization bypass in Alt Redirect before 1.6.4 allows remote attackers to evade query-string stripping via crafted HTTP requests. URISupport and CheckForRedirects compare framework-parsed keys with exact configured names, so case variants, nested encoding, and duplicates survive the strip list. Unauthenticated HTTP access and an enabled Query String Strip rule are required; crafted requests can alter redirects, pollute caches, or return unexpected 404 responses.
