CVE-2025-60855

Root code execution via incomplete signature verification

Published Oct 16, 2025 · Updated Oct 16, 2025

Improper firmware signature verification in Reolink Video Doorbell WiFi DB_566128M5MP_W allows local users to execute code as root. The /app/upgrade program invokes cryptographic routines without validating the trusted certificate chain or comparing the firmware digest, causing crafted images to be accepted. Published scoring requires local access and high privileges, while the supplier disputes the finding and asserts that private encryption and tamper-proof verification protect updates.
