Code execution via unneutralized CSV formula fields
Published Oct 23, 2025 · Updated Oct 23, 2025
CSV injection in Instant Developer Foundation before 25.0.9600 allows remote attackers to plant formulas in exported spreadsheet data. Its CSV export path writes user-controlled fields beginning with + or - without neutralization, while quoting only values that begin with =. Code execution requires a recipient to open the exported file in spreadsheet software with formula and, for the demonstrated Windows payload, DDE launch enabled.
